Woldgate Trekking Centre

Woldgate Trekking Centre located just outside Bridlington offers a series of superb treks along the old Roman road, through woodland and over dales – a location which inspired painter David Hockney to create some of his most memorable work. Woldgate accommodates both beginners and advanced riders. All treks are escorted by experienced riders, and nervous beginners may be led if desired. Eastfield Garden centre is only two miles away, where you can stop off for a coffee and a bite to eat. Alternatively, visit Bridlignton with its elegant promenades, sandy beaches and historic old town.

Bleach Yard Stables

Based in the quaint market town of Beverley, Bleach Yard Stables offers hacks across the beautiful rolling countryside of Beverley Westwood with views of Black Mill and Beverley Racecourse. Stay a while in Beverley and visit the gothic Beverley Minster and the 15th century North Bar which divides impressive georgian streets containing a great number of listed buildings. Take advantage of the upmarket shopping experience and browse high street names and independent shops. Beverley also boasts quirky cafes, acclaimed restaurants and historic pubs.

Burnby Equestrian Centre

Burnby Equestrian Centre is situated at the foot of the picturesque Yorkshire Wolds near Pocklington and provides a range of scenic hacks around the local area including the stunning parkland of the Madhyamaka Kadampa Meditation Centre, with breathtaking views across the rolling countryside. Pocklington - known as ‘the Gateway to the Wolds’ - is home to the stunning Burnby Hall Gardens and Stewart Museum. The town boasts a number of independent shops and galleries. You can also enjoy a meal at one of the town’s quaint tea rooms.

Ride Yorkshire

For the more experienced rider looking to get out and about in the Yorkshire Wolds and other parts of East Yorkshire, visit ‘Ride Yorkshire’ for guided rides with your own horse in open countryside. Howden Equestrian Centre

Howden Equestrian Centre is a family run riding school. All the horses/ponies are carefully selected by the riding school, to give the best possible experience for riders of all levels. The riding school also welcomes you to come and stay on one of their tailor made Holiday packages, were you can develop your riding skills, whilst visiting East Yorkshire. The old market town of Howden is dominated by its Minster, which leads to a beautifully preserved Georgian town centre with cobbled streets and historic buildings. Take a walk around the town, admire its fine Georgian architecture and enjoy its attractive shops, coaching inns and charming tea rooms.

Low Hunsley Farm Hacking

Low Hunsley Farm Hacking offers safe off-road riding facilities near Little Weighton in the Yorkshire Wolds. Riders and their Horse can follow up to 5 miles of tracks and field-margins at their own pace, with beautiful views over the Wolds and towards the Humber, and perhaps pop over some cross-country fences. The tracks lead through the gentle hills of the Yorkshire Wolds, making it an excellent work-out for your horses – especially if you normally ride in flatter areas!

Oxmardyke Equestrian Centre

Situated on the outskirts of Gilberdyke, Oxmardyke Equestrian Centre is a modern purpose built facility with both indoor and outdoor arenas and an undercover stable block. Horse riding is an activity that can be enjoyed by all, whatever age you are – if you are looking for a relaxing pastime or just want to improve your riding technique. Oxmardyke provide a range of riding lessons to suit all ages and abilities, as well as the opportunity for Hacking, Dressage and Show Jumping. Additionally the stables also cater for Parties, Ladies only days and Summer Camp. Make a day of it and visit Eastrington Ponds or North Cave Wetlands.

Lacy’s Cottage Riding School

Lacy’s Cottage Riding School has been established for more than 25 years and is the perfect country location for riders of all ages and abilities. Nestled in the base of the Wolds on the edge of the Vale of York – just 3 miles from Stamford Bridge, the views are pretty whatever the season. All riding lessons and courses are designed to suit your level, whether it be novice or experienced. There are fun days in the school holidays and a summer camp each year which culminates in a gymkhana. You are welcome to use a riding school pony, or you can bring your own. Lessons can cover handling and looking after your own pony, flatwork, jumping or a mixture. Lacy’s also cater for Birthday Parties.
